XP host with Linux mint
XP host with Linux mint
My employer is running windows XP due to software for the equipment not being compatible with Win7 and above. If I ran Linux Mint in Virtualbox to access internet through Firefox or Chrome will there still be security vulnerability issues on the host?

Re: XP host with Linux mint
If it is connecting to the internet via Bridged-mode, then it's like another physical PC on your network. That means you'd want to install your antivirus and firewalls.
If it is connecting to the internet via NAT-mode, then it has a (small) additional layer of protection, but a NAT is not a firewall. That means you'd want to install your antivirus and firewalls.
Having Linux Mint adds or subtracts nothing to the security of your guest.
