Red Hat 6.5 64bit crawls on bridged network

Hello,

I use Virtualbox a lot on Mac OSX since 2008.
I usually I have several Debian, Ubuntu, Solaris and other guests running on a bridged network connection.

Now I have one Red Hat 6.5 64-bit machine, with a very slow bridged network connection :(

Average ping from other computers on the network to the Debian or Ubuntu systems take significantly less than 0.050 ms.
Ping to the Red Hat 6.5 server takes between 0.200 and 0.800 seconds! (ssh connections are lagging every 4-5 characters)

I tried rebooting the mac (it had been 47 days) and rebooting the Red Hat VM, but it doesn't help.
Load on the Red Hat machines is close to 0 (using top, uptime, ...). It is installed without graphical interface and takes less than 200MB of the 512MB I gave it.
I gave it two cpu's instead of one, but this also does not help.

Any ideas ?

It is not a DNS issue!

cheers,
paul

Please do not add spam / advertising links to your messages. The only links we allow have to be VirtualBox related, and non-commercial. A link to a Linux training course fails this test.

The issue: any RHEL6.5 install has an extremely slow bridged network connection. I tried all network cards and a lot of VM settings. Other VM systems (Debian, CentOS, W2003, ...) work fine (pings below 10ms) only RHEL (default install without desktop) crawls with average 250ms (occasional 1100ms) pings.

Opening one ssh connection with "top -d 0.02" works around the problem.
VirtualBox and RHEL are up-to-date, MAC OSX is 10.8.5 on mid-2010 Macbook Pro.

@mpack:You could have removed the link and sent me a private message. Now you have ruined any chance of a response to my 'spam' :(
