Dear Members,

I am newbie to virtual hosts, we are going to rebuild SAN array with Linux and windows server 2012 environment , while setting a virtual lab;
the virtual box version 4.3.10 and windows image is official from Microsoft site and running on z220 workstation .
i can't access the desktop interface of after finishing the set up and provide log in password.
"screen shot attached"
same issue with win 8.1 but windows server 2008r2 + Linux openfiler is OK, so that's why i know virtual box is working fine
i know there is a way to overcome this problem by enter this command
"c:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VBoxManage.exe" setextradata "server2012" VBoxInternal/CPUM/CMPXCHG16B 1
but nothing changed...any missing steps?

Thanks in advance,
Nwas

Did you by any chance choose to install the Server Core version?

When you are installing Windows Server 2012 R2, right at the start of the installation you are asked which edition you want (Standard or Datacenter) and which version (Core or with GUI). The Core version results in a command line only installation, like in your screenshot. Make sure to choose the option with GUI if you want the full graphical desktop.
