VERR_NOT_SUPPORTED

Post by windstory »

I got an error when I put vmdk file into windows 7 vm's storage on Mavericks host.
Could not get the storage format of the medium '/_MyDocs/2prg.vmdk' (VERR_NOT_SUPPORTED).
?? ??: VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR (0x80BB0005)
?? ??: Medium
?????: IMedium {05f2bbb6-a3a6-4fb9-9b49-6d0dda7142ac}
???: IVirtualBox {fafa4e17-1ee2-4905-a10e-fe7c18bf5554}
??? RC: VBOX_E_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND (0x80BB0001)

I made this '2prg.vmdk" with this command.

Code: Select all

/Applications/VMware\ Fusion.app/Contents/Library/vmware-rawdiskCreator create /dev/disk2 1 /_MyDocs/2prg lsilogic

Then it most likely isn't a valid vmdk. I don't recognize the command you entered - it doesn't seem to have anything to do with VirtualBox.

not only does it have to do with VMWare's Fusion and nothing to do with VirtualBox but what does trying to create a .vdmk from a Windows 7 install have to do with Mac OSX Server Guests?
