Hello,
I've been unable to boot an Ubuntu 13.04 x86 image with Guest Additions using VirtualBox 4.3.10. I'm running Windows 7, 64-bit. I have 4 GB RAM total available, and I've topped my allocations to the VM at 1.5 GB so far.
I receive the following error on boot: [ 47.830987] piix4_smbus 0000:00:07.0: SMBus base address uninitialized - upgrade BIOS or use force_addr=0xaddr
I'm not quite sure what this means. After that error, I get stuck on a blank screen with blinking cursor. I'm able to send the ACPI shutdown signal, which appears to work properly. Any assistance would be appreciated. I've attached a log file. Thanks.

Code: Select all
00:00:02.141909 HMR3Init: Falling back to raw-mode: AMD-V is disabled in the BIOS (or by the host OS).The warning you posted is nothing to be concerned with.

Well, that resolved it (thank you), but that doesn't explain how I used this same VM just yesterday. I haven't upgraded or changed my BIOS settings in a while, but I suddenly started getting that message. It also flashed the message just before the VM login screen loaded up. Strange, no? Do you know what could be causing that behavior?
