ova file from Windows host to Linux host

I have .ova file of a Windows VM which I exported on Windows host.

I wish to transfer it to a Debian host.

1. Will the linux operating system be able to read and import the .ova file?
2. If not, what are my options?

Sorry, just realised I meant to write *.ova (not .ovm...)
