Hi,
I am a newbie here. Excuse me if I make any silly mistake.
I am running a Windows 7 Host, virtualbox 4.3.10, and a guest of Windows 8.1. This guest runs fine in the sense that I can open IE and browse Internet.
However, the shared folders that I made in the Machine Setting do not work. One share is c:\temp with share name temp with auto-mount.
I tried to manually mount the share \\VBoxsvr\temp, but Windows 8.1 reported the host VBoxsvr cannot be found after some diagnosis.

I guess I did not. A quick Google search with the key words "Virtualbox guest additions" landed me on the right documentation page and the instructions of how to install guest additions.mpack wrote:Did you install the guest additions?
Thank you for the information!
