Hi, I am using virtual box (This is my first time) and I got this error message: Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Windows 7 (64 bit).
AMD-V is disabled in the BIOS (or by the host OS). (VERR_SVM_DISABLED).
Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: Console
Interface: IConsole {8ab7c520-2442-4b66-8d74-4ff1e195d2b6}
What should I do?

VirtualBox can only run 64bit VMs if your host supports hardware assisted virtualization, meaning either VT-x (on Intel CPUs) or AMD-v.
The error message is saying that your CPU is an AMD device, it does support AMD-v, but the feature is currently disabled in the PC BIOS. You need to boot into the PC BIOS, find the feature and enable it. The details vary between PCs, but your PC mfr should be able to advise you on the specifics.

Win8 doesn't enter into this, it's the PC BIOS setup you need to access. Usually you have to hit F10 or Del or something like that as soon as you see the first signs of life when booting up your PC. And of course, I do mean when booting up, not when restarting from a suspended state. As I said, ask your PC manufacturer for details, or check your PC manual.

Other question, could you tell me what to enable in the bios?

No, I can't. That's why I keep telling you to contact your PC manufacturer. I will not respond to this question again.
