Using Oracle Virtual Box 4.3.8 on Windows 8.1

Post by Ninjageek »

I originally used VBox on my Windows 7 laptop until it crashed, along with several other issues, long story short bought a new computer. Right now I'm using Windows 8.1 with an AMD A6-5200 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 2.00 GHz, along with 8GB of RAM, and of course, it's running 64bit. I've read the articles on changing the "Hyper-V" settings, but I can't find it in Windows Features, and I can't change the OS settings to 64bit Linux due to the lack of it being in the options... I could really use some help here. Thank you.

open the control panel in Windows. go to Programs and Features. Click on the link, "Turn Windows features on or off". Hyper-V should be fourth in the list. If not, you may have to disable it in the BIOS.

Also make sure that hardware virtualization is enabled in the PCs bios. By default it is not and a new PC will not have it enabled.
