VirtualBox-4.3.8-92456-Win.exe installation failure (Win8.1)

Dear all,

I have a big installation issue: at the end of the installation, it Rollback everything for an unknown reason.
To help the one who will be my savior, I try the installation using : VirtualBox-4.3.8-92456-Win.exe --logging and the C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp\VirtualBox\VBoxInstallLog.txt is in attachment (here

) of this issue where we can clearly see :
DIFXAPP: ENTER: RollbackInstall()

As it looks to me that the issue comes from NetFlt installation I also try to remove directly Virtual Box item in the Network card inside Windows device management console ("Gestionnaire des périphériques" in french) but the result is the same only we have the following change :
NetFlt is not installed currently

CustomAction ca_RollbackInstallNetFlt returned actual error code 1603 but will be translated to success due to continue marking
Please help me as I'm really stick and I need my VirtualBox to continue working,

NOTE : I also try with a VirtualBox-3.2.22-92810-Win.exe with the same issue (1603)
NOTE : I also try to remove the c:\Users\[username]\.VirtualBox with the same issue as well
NOTE : I also try to remove C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\vbox* and any occurence of vbox in c:\Windows ... and C:\Windows\System32\drivers\vbox* and C:\Windows\System32\vbox* and regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\vbox* + a reboot

Use "Run as administrator" to run the installer, and also make sure "Driver Signature Enforcement" is not configured to silently discard drivers whose signature it doesn't trust.

I did use the admin command line to launch the command: VirtualBox-4.3.8-92456-Win.exe --logging
and I did the following (which is I guess what you were expected when talking about : "Driver Signature Enforcement"):
BCDEDIT /set LoadOptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
BCDEDIT /set TESTSIGNING ON

but the result is the same ... installation failure

Please help, I'm so distraught at that time,

What is an "admin command line"?

I suggest that you check the MD5 checksums on your downloaded install package, and if necessary download it again. Also disable any resident antivirus, and use "Run as administrator" as already mentioned.

The error message "Error 2888: Executing the TextStyle view failed" makes no sense to me.

I have made another download and the MD5 is 54568a482e218eb12fe8cdeaaa34d620
as given on download/hashes/4.3.8/MD5SUMS : 54568a482e218eb12fe8cdeaaa34d620 *VirtualBox-4.3.8-92456-Win.exe
but the issue is still there

I don't think this is a corruption file issue because I have exactly the same issue when trying with an older version : VirtualBox-3.2.22-92810-Win.exe
Something looks corrupted on my PC since my first upgrade try but I don't know what. Your advice or a workaround would be very welcome, I cannot reinstall my whole PC just for a virtualbox installation issue !?!

Search the webs for "Windows corrupted installer". Add a "database" if it helps.

It wouldn't be a VirtualBox issue, VBox is just a recent victim. I've been trying to prove alternatives, but the issue is beginning sound very much like corrupted MSI-related keys in the registry. That's a Windows support issue, I would do a web search along the lines that Socrates suggests.

I try the 3 methods below without any success as well :
Method 1:

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to reregister the Installer service and check. Refer to these steps:

a) Press Windows key +C, select “Command prompt (Admin)”.
b) Type msiexec.exe /unregister, and then press ENTER.
c) Type msiexec.exe /regserver, and then press ENTER.
d) Close the command prompt and now try installing the software.

Method 2:

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to run the fixit from the below link and check:

Method 3: SFC scan

System File checker (SFC) scan is done to check if there are any corrupted system files that could be causing this issue. Refer to these steps to perform a SFC scan:

a) Press Windows key + X, select Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated command prompt
b) In the command prompt type the following command: sfc/scannow and press enter
c) Now, restart the computer.
