Saving the attached USB devices

Running ver 4.3.8. Running Windows XP in VMbox on top of Windows 7. I have 2 separate USB devices plugged in all of the time. When I bring up XP, I have to reselect all of the 3 USB devices all of time. How can I save the state of XP so I do not have to reselect the those 3 USB devices all of the time.
Thankyou,
jeff

If you want devices to be attached automatically, shut the VM down (not saved state) and enable a few USB filters in the VM settings.

Pausing the guest is the only way that the USB will not be released to the host. Saving the state or shutting down releases all resources. It kinda makes sense if you think about it.
Edit: It doesn't work, even with filters as mpack suggested, I tried it. You have to release it from the host. Then it is auto-captured. But it's not what I think you were trying to do, which is as soon as you start the guest the USB devices are auto-captured.

Curious. What kind of USB device, stick/flash or hard drive?

Are you testing this on a Mac host? AFAIK, USB capture behaves differently on a Mac host.
I'm also assuming that the OP is potially powering down the host, and perhaps unplugging the USB devices, in between XP guest sessions. So the guest can't possibly retain ownership of the USB devices through all that.
