Hi, was wondering if VirtualBox with Windows Server 2012 can be used as a real server or is the purpose of Virtualbox for testing only.
A friend works for a volunteer fire department, they have 5 computers. They want to be able to sign in to any computer and keep their profile...like using roaming profiles.
Without having to take up one computer as a server, I thought about using virtualbox on one of the computers and then installing the windows server on it. I just don't know if this will allow me to actually use the server or if it would be more of a test environment.
Thanks for any help.

I use it like this everyday 24/7/365wondering if VirtualBox with Windows Server 2012 can be used as a real server
All the way from media server to domain server, and NAS.
It all depends on the host and what it has for resources, and your understanding of VirtualBox.
