Goodmornig,
My aim is creating a VM with Windowd 7-64 as guest Os on a Linux host machine.
I created a VDI with Windows 7-64 as selection, on an ext4 partition without any pb. When I want to boot the installation CD for installing Windows 7, I get the following message: "CDBOOT: couldn't find BOOTMGR".
Yes, OK. But, when I boot directly this CD from my machine, the CD boot correctly.
Can you help me. I suppose I am not the first, but I didn't find the good way in this forum.
Thank you.
I found the issue. It was written in the embedded assistance Chapter 3.1.2 Configuring virtual machines-64-bit guests-Warning:
"On any host, you should enable the I/O APIC for virtual machines that you intend to use in 64-bit mode. This is especially true for 64-bit Windows VMs. In addition, for 64-bit Windows guests, you should make sure that the VM uses the Intel networking device, since there is no 64-bit driver support for the AMD PCNet card. If you use the "Create VM" wizard of the VirtualBox user interface, VirtualBox will automatically use the correct settings for each selected 64-bit operating system type."
And now, it's OK.
