I try to use vboxmanage to convert ".vdi" file to ".vhd" file:
C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox>VBoxManage clonehd c:\xp2.vdi c:\xp2.vhd --format vhd
I obtain the following error:
VBoxManage.exe: error: Cannot register the hard disk 'c:\xp2.vdi' {9c0bffad} because a hard disk 'C:\Documents and Settings\user\VirtualBox VMs\XP\XP.vdi' with UUID {9c0bffad} already exists
I'm lost...
"c:\xp2.vdi" is indeed a Microsoft Windows copy of "XP.vdi".
And so, indeed, "c:\xp2.vdi" had the same uuid of "XP.vdi".
On 4.3.8, I need to create a new virtual machine using "c:\xp2.vdi" before trying to convert it using "VBoxManage clonehd" ?
Thanks for all.
Best regards.

Re: vboxmanage and 4.3.8
Let's back up. Why on earth would you willingly use VHD format?
Then, why did you make a copy and then clone the copy? Why not clone the original?
