Set-up of Linux Mint 16 Fails.

I'm trying to set-up the latest version of Linux Mint 16 as a guest on a machine where Win XP is the host, but the process stops functioning at the first Mint screen after the countdown. The top of the screen says that it's 'running', but it certainly isn't going anywhere/doing anything.

I've downloaded the Mint ISO a second & third times from different mirror sites, checked & triple checked all of the progam settings, but it persists in failing at the same point.

To confirm that it wasn't the Mint ISO at fault, I downloaded and used the competitor's software (VMware Player), and Mint sets-up as it should, but I'd really prefer to use VirtualBox.

Any suggestions?

Thanks loukingjr. It got me through and enabled me to set-up Mint, even though I got the message saying PAE wasn't available without renewing the BIOS. :D
