On Windows hosts I believe USB3 ports are supported. What isn't supported is USB3 devices. So if that's a USB3 external HD then you can forget it, or plug it into a USB2 port.

On other hosts, both USB3 ports and devices are not supported.

You can bypass most of these problems by accessing the drive as a shared folder.

Thanks a lot,

Then if USB 3 ports are supported, however, USB3 devices are not supported.

Then what benefit from supporting usb3 ports, without supporting usb3 devics which will be connceted to USB3 ports.

Obviously, because some PCs only have USB3 ports, so this is better than nothing.

Yes, even ifthey only have USB3 ports, then we cannot be benefiting from features of speed of USB3 when connecting a device compatible with usb2/usb3 to USB3 port which is only supported by VBox.
All USB3 devices are compatible with USB2. Howeve, as long as USB3 ports are only supported, and USB 3 devices are not supported, then we can connect USB3 Devices to what in order to benefit from this feature.

Yes, but what is the benefit of money if it cannot be used to buy goods?
If my USB3 port is supported, and when I connect a usb 3 device to it, then it will not be supported? :?:

It's an open source project. If you wish to contribute the code to support USB3 devices then I'm sure the devs would be pleased.

I am not genius to do that. however as long as all USB3 devices connected to USB3 are supported in my host machine, then those who are geniuses will see this is too much easier to let all USB3 devices connected to USB3 are supported in VBox.

The meaning of that didn't make it through the translation. Well, if you can't contribute code, how much are you willing to pay? Because in the end, it's the paying customers who determine priorities.
