3D accelerated WebGL in Linux Guest

Hi people out there,

I am currently working on a performance-measurement topic. To get reliable figures I want to perform my HTML-application in Google Chrome / Chromium on a linux system running in virtual box. Currently I am testing with various Ubuntu distributions. I installed vbox extensions, guest additions and start Chrome with the flags "--ignore-gpu-blacklist --enable-webgl". Software-rendering works just fine. Unfortunately I don't get WebGL with 3D acceleration working.

So my question is, is there anyone who got 3D accelerated WebGL in a Linux guest working?

I don't mind either the Linux host, nor guest distribution.

Thanks in advance

I strongly support this question. I also need to get WebGL working in an Ubuntu 16.4 LTS guest system.

The only solution at the moment is to install Ubuntu 16.4 LTS as your host.
And please do not reply to a 3 year old dead thread. There's got to be something more recent, if you care to search for it...
