Ubuntu 12.04 black screen after sleep (4.3.8)

After upgrading to VB 4.3.8, my Linux VM started behaving weirdly, with the screen turning black after putting the host computer to sleep, and the only way to refresh the VM screen is to resize the VM window.
I did also do an update of Ubuntu, so I am not sure if it is a problem purely in VB or in the combination of VB with the latest Ubuntu update.
Has anybody else seen this?
[UPDATE] The problem goes away after a downgrade to VB 4.3.6.
