Only 1 CPU useable on Win 8.1 Host

Post by tobitobsn »

After installating Virtualbox 4.3.8 with 4.3.8 Additions on Win 8.1 Pro i can not change CPU Number. Under the System/CPU Tab the Slider for CPU is disabled. So i can only use one Core which is quite bad. VMPlayer works fine with more than 1 Core, so i think this should be an VBox Issue.

All other Functions seems to work properly.

I have 4Gig of RAM and Virtual Box is installed on a High Speed MicroSD Card, because i have a Tablet/Notebook Combination with a small Main SSD.

The guest needs to be shutdown to change most of the settings. Not running, not paused, not saved. Shutdown normally.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.

Thanks for the response. The VMs were normally shutdown when i tried to modify the cpu settings.

In the beginning of this week i deinstalled vbox, did some windows updates und reinstalled the newest version of vbox including extension pack (4.3.8) and now it works.

So the problem is gone. Thx 4 support.
