Windows server 2008 domains

Hello everyone,
i have 2 virtual operating systems running and i have setup a domain on one its 2008 server but the other windows 7 premium does not find the domain,
i have tryed the full domain address and also the netbios but nothing, it works on the host computer perfectly fine and asks for a username and password(cancel at this point)
the connection between them is a bridge.
i cant seem to get this working, they have both got static ips and i connect to them from other places not in the network so it needs to remain like that(i have no gui running)

anyone help?
