Thank you for your reply. I want to use from XP to XP transfer.
Somehow, my windows XP set up got messed up so I made another one.
I want to move the files from the old one to the new one.

So by "emulators" you mean VMs? And you want to transfer files from one VM to the other? And one of the VMs no longer works?

Let's say VM1 was the broken VM, VM2 is the new one. The easiest way to access the files is to attach VM1's boot disk as a second drive in VM2. This should work provided VM1 did not use snapshots, and of course it also won't work if VM1's disk was badly corrupted.

Hello, I really appreciate your reply.
Yes I guess I meant Virtual Boxes not emulator since your explanation exactly matches what I was wondering about.

I am a complete beginner of virtualbox. Can you please explain or perhaps attach a link of how to attach boot disks? I cannot find any information about that in internet.

Thank you

Use the "Storage" section of VM settings to configure guest disks. In this case you want to edit VM2's config and attach the VDI that's in VM1's folder. And of course it would be a fatal mistake to do this if either VM uses snapshots.

Total beginners should definitely read the user manual, for example the chapters "Virtual Storage" and "Configuring Guests".
