Cannot attach medium 'P:\ORACLE VM\VBoxGuestAdditions_4.3.8.iso' {6b42b023-e838-4f3f-85d2-6690c7d3692c}: medium is already associated with the current state of machine uuid {6d8bb68a-3e7e-4675-b33a-64b520f44f7a}!.
Result Code:
VBOX_E_OBJECT_IN_USE (0x80BB000C)
Component:
Medium
Interface:
IMedium {05f2bbb6-a3a6-4fb9-9b49-6d0dda7142ac}

HOST: Win 7 x64
Guest: Win 8.1 Pro

How to fix?

Thanks, Donald

Only one log is needed: of a completed session that shows the problem.

The error message seems to be accurate: the ISO is already mounted in the VM - you can't mount it twice.

Anyway, the VBoxGuestAdditions.iso file is bundled with VirtualBox and stored in the "Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox" folder, so why are you trying to mount an external copy of it? ("P:\ORACLE VM\VBoxGuestAdditions_4.3.8.iso").

If you're expecting something to happen when you insert the GAs CD - it won't, because Autorun is disabled by default on Windows 8. Instead browse to the virtual CD inside the guest and run the exe file yourself. Remember to unmount the CD after.
