Printing from host AND guest

Post by DrRog »

Hello,

Have a XP computer with USB printer, running an XP VM which uses that printer and shares it with 3 other VM computers in a network.
Question is: When the VM is running on the computer which physically is attached to the printer how can the user print from the VM AND the host OS?

It seems like you went a little backwards. Why don't you use the printer directly in the host and share it via a network share with the 3 XP computers AND the VM.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.

If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

Because the network is a sealed network, and the user need internet access and company policy is internet access and the main network are to be kept separate...

Hence the idea of running the company network access in a VM allowing the user the have internet access on the host :)

And you don't think that is breaching company policy?
