permission problem accessing the file for the medium 'vmdk' (VERR_ACCESS_DENIED).

My box is mavericks and made vmdk files with raw partition for attaching windows 8 vm. But I got this error message when trying to put in hdd device.

Please let me know how to resolve this.

Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid that you're going to have to solve it on your own ;).

Raw partition access is a real experts feature. You can start by taking a look at the FAQ: How to Use a MacOS Bootcamp Partition as a VirtualBox Guest, but I remember that there were differences and issues with Windows 8. Also search the Mac forums here for success/failure stories. And remember 3 words of wisdom. Backup, backup, backup!
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
