Install failed prematurely - rolling back...

Hi all,

This issue exists many times in this forum and there is no solution for it yet.

Win 7 x64, install about 3 months old (due to new SSDs only).

I run it as Administrator, and it fails to complete install each time. It rolls back the installation, and says Install ended prematurely, and then install fatal error.

I've tried trawling the web, no help found.

I have no other issues with my system.

I have used it on Win 7 x64 successfully in the past, on another machine, same 4.3.6 version too.

I know not what else to do....

System File Checker is fine also.

Any help please?

Sorry, but what fails to install? The only software you mention is Win7x64, support for which is a Microsoft responsibility.

If you mean VirtualBox, then what version? And what was the precise error message. Are there install logs?

4.3.6 VirtualBox fails to install: VirtualBox-4.3.6-91406-Win.

I was hoping to use it with GNS3, in the past I've used Virtualbox to virtualize Backtrack under Windows, with much success.

However, at this point in time, 4.3.6 will not install.
