00:00:00.836020 Guest OS type: 'Ubuntu'
Select Ubuntu_64 in the guest settings ( version )

Its already in Ubuntu (64bit) I just tried changing that setting to other Linux too but it didnt work either. The vm keeps craching and the status is still aborted.

The snippet I posted above came from your log file. It did not say Ubuntu_64 it said Ubuntu which is the 32-bit setting.

So tell me when this started aborting? What changed if this used to work?

You can also post a new guest log showing the (Ubuntu_64) and then we can see what else may be wrong.

Well thats weird because the VM it was already with the option for 64 bit. I´ll atach the image.

This machine is basically used to host apps i use for development that i dont want to use in windows and downloads too. Its been working fine for at least 1 year until now.

Code: Select all

00:00:00.836020 Guest OS type: 'Ubuntu'
00:00:02.150032 HM: Guest support: 32-bit only.
I post the remainder of the reason above. Since the version does not state _64 VirtualBox is not registering 64-bit support.

So I ask again when did this start happening?
Has the guest ever worked?
Do you see any errors on the screen when you try to run the guest?
Did you see any errors during the original install?

I think it started saturday or sunday. I´m sure i was using it on saturday and when i tried to use it con sunday it was like this.

Yes it was working perfectly.

No i dont see any errors in guest when booting, only after a black screen the VM crashes and the Windows error appears that the process stoped working.

I dont remember errors during the original install. In the last month i did a couple of things as reinstalling Google Chrome, I updated the ubuntu maybe 2 weeks ago. I updated the Virtual Box version 1 or 2 month ago.

When i updated the Virtualbox Version i think i had to recreate the Virtual Machine using the same (old) virtual disks, and at that time i created it wrong using the 32bit ubuntu, but then i changed it back to 64bit and it was working fine

OK so shut everything VBox down and reboot the host ( if you have not already ) then open VirtualBox and select Ubuntu_64 and try to start the guest. If it aborts again post the log file of that session only. It will be the newest and not have a number in the name.

Post the following as an attachment

Somewhere the guest has lost it, or VBox has, due to the change in the way the guest is created.

Try setting the longmode manually and see if it will boot.

Code: Select all

VBoxManage modifyvm <name|uuid> --longmode on
