Cant patch svga

Post by Theramlösaexperten »

Hi

I have a problem when i install svga in dos to windows 3.11.
I followed mpack tutorial on how to install 3.11 from dot to dot.
Internet worked and sound. So i want to thank you for that mpack.
I get stuck on one point in mpacks tutorial. Its that part when you install svga driver.
I downloaded that stuff mpack said.
And when i try to type ''vgapatch p'' in the command field it look like this.

Moved to "Windows Guests", as question is not relevant to "Windows Hosts".

Sorry, I only directed you to the tutorials area, it isn't my tutorial so I can't answer questions about it. Incidentally, please provide a link when referring to another topic, so I can be sure what you're referring to. In the meantime I'm assuming it's this one: Howto: Set up Win 3.x with 1024*768 resolution.

There's often a separate discussion topic to discuss each tutorial, perhaps you might want to search for that.

One thing: you seem to have a self extracting zip which you unpacked on the floppy - running out of space on the floppy as you did you. It would probably be better to copy the file to a (virtual) hard disk directory before unpacking it. In fact I just checked the tutorial and it also tells you to do exactly that.

Urk. You are not following the tutorial I thought you were, and the guy who wrote your tutorial evidently unpacked onto floppy A just like you did, and ran out of space on the floppy just like you did - and neglected to comment on the problem.

As mentioned already, I suggest you copy the file to a temp folder on the hard disk, then extract and run the patch tool there.
