It just says "failed to create snapshot" without an error. What's up?
edit: it lets me take snapshots if there's no VDI attached but that sort of defeats the point.

There was no error message so I didnt think a screenshot would mean anything. As for other diagnostic info, what is needed again? the contents of the .vbox?

Oh it was because I had the VDI attached to another VM. Error message should say so though.
