I tried to use the virtualbox manager gui to delete a snapshot and it froze - I had to force close virtualbox.
Now I'm left with a missing differencing .vdi.
base.vdi -> [missing] -> [uuid1.vdi] -> [uuid2.vdi]
I would like to ask:
1) What is actually going on when I deleted the snapshot and why did it cause a missing vdi when I force closed virtualbox?
2) Is there any way to save myself from this situation by perhaps modifying the child/parent UUID relationships in each vdi file?
I have read other posts in the forums and they mostly suggest cloning. However, since this error was a result of an incomplete snapshot deletion; perhaps there is an easier way to get around it?
Thanks in advance.
