I've searched but haven't found the answer although I think it must be out there and I've just missed it. I have the Ubuntu Guest Network adapter configured as "Bridged Adapter". Guest additions are installed and inside of Ubuntu I am able to mount and access the Window's Host's folders.

When I run a Windows Guest VM I am able to see that VM on the Host's Windows Explorer just like any other computer on my network (I have MACs and Windows machines which show up).

What settings do I need to do so when I'm operating on the Window's Host I can access and see the Ubuntu VM folders and files?

You'll need samba on the guest and define what you want to share.

OK, thanks for the quick answer. I had forgotten about samba and am trying to get it configured but once that is settled I think I should be good to go.

Just in case someone else runs across this and has trouble.

I was able to see the Ubuntu VM on the Windows Win7 Host machine ONLY if I entered the IP address in the file explorer address bar. The only setting I could find to get the PC to show up in the list of computers on the network was to add the following to the /etc/samba/smb.conf file:
you possibly also need wins support but I didn't debug further once I got it to work
