Networking Issue

Post by heinbau »

Hey guys,

Let me start out by saying that I have read through the tutorial in the Generic Advice section and also spent some time Googling this question before creating a new topic, but I can't find a solution to this problem yet.

Here is my setup:

Windows 7 host
Windows Server 2008 r2 guest

Host machine is connected over WiFi through a VPN.

I can't get the guest machine to talk to the internet at all. I have tried setting it up as "NAT" and also as "Bridged Connection" (using the WiFi card, and then also the VPN as the bridge), but I haven't had any success. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can try or questions regarding the setup? I feel like it has something to do with the host being on a VPN but I'm not having any luck.

Thanks,
Nick

If it doesn't work with NAT it is most probabely a resitriction of the VPN.

I'm guessing that if this is the case then I won't be able to get it to talk to the internet from the guest machine without involving my IT department?
