Shared Clipboard doesn't work

Hi,

I run an Ubuntu with a minimal gui (xorg and openbox) as a guest on a Windows 7 host, and I'd
like to copy/past in both direction host <--> guest, but it doesn't work.
I've installed the Guest Addition:

Code: Select all

$ sudo apt-get install -y dkms build-essential linux-headers-generic

$ sudo /media/cdrom/VBoxLinuxAdditions.run
then, in Virtualbox, I've set the Shared Clipboard option to bidirectional.

But, when I attempt to copy/paste some text from Ubuntu/Gvim to Windows/Notepad (or the opposite), it doesn't
work.

Can someone help me ?

Virtualbox version: 4.3.0

Thanks

Ok, I found the answer.

It turned out that the VBoxClient service was not launched at the openbox start.
So I've just edited the /etc/xdg/openbox/autostart file and added the following line:

Code: Select all

VBoxClient --clipboard
Now it does work.

Hope it helps :wink:
