How to prevent the network device ID to be modified ?

Hi,

I've created a Ubuntu server machine and save its vdi file on a USB stick in order to
launch it from different PCs (under Windows 7) via VirtualBox.
Unfortunately, each time I switch to a PC from another and restart my server, the network device ID is modified.
So I just have to edit the /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules file which is very annoying.

Is there any way to prevent the network device ID to be modified or should I find another solution for a portable server ?

Thanks
