Hello everyone,
I got a brilliant idea on how to save money! If it's legal and possible...
So... As the topic. I want to use windows server 2012 datacenter. So first question, is it possible to reset the trail period with snapshot?
Why I want to do this?
I need the RDP multiple application in windows server 2012 to let users login and start a network application connected to another server with windows server 2008. So because of the basic use I thought maybe I could reset the trail period when it's near the end with a snapshot?
// all the best, from the smart man.
Reset trial period with snapshot?

Reseting a trial period is not legal, and using snapshot won't make you any good I am afraid. Once the OS is installed, the trial starts.

Re: Reset trial period with snapshot?
hm...
But if I dont activate any license key, then it shouldn't know how many days I have used it if I use snapshot?
Else it would be possible to reinstall the OS after 180 days(should not be illegal?), but snapshots would go faster

Re: Reset trial period with snapshot?
Why would activating the OS or not make any difference to the trial period? As soon as you install it, the timer starts counting down. It will expire even if you don't actually use it.

Re: Reset trial period with snapshot?
It's always weird to me that people are willing to spend hundreds of $ in man hours in order to get around a $50 software license. If the software is of good quality, and if you want the company that made it to stay in business, and if you might want support, then pay for it.

Re: Reset trial period with snapshot?
Thanks for the help everyone.
Mpack, that's true.
I tried to use ubuntu desktop to solve the RDP question. But linux has so slow connection duo the graphic support i guess(XRDP), and I would like to support linux more then Microsoft. Windows is the only good solution for RDP that I have found, yet.
