Re: Windows 7 OEM second activation error
You could try calling Microsoft's activation telephone number and telling them what happened. I had to do this once when I bounced an XP disc between a couple computers, trying to settle on the one I wanted. The lady asked if I was sure I had deleted the activated copy off the other computer, I said yes, and she reactivated the new install.
As a backup in the future, when you have the guest all set up as you like it, copy the guest's folder to a backup drive. Then if the guest goes south on you but your host is still working well, all you need to do is, while the guest is off and the Virtualbox GUI window is closed, recopy the backup back to the usual drive again, and maybe a host reboot just to be safe. Then your guest will restart with the backup files.
