thanks

Well, it really comes down to the host's capabilities. Stronger host, stronger guests.
Although, you should keep in mind that programs running in a guest will never be as fast as the same program running in the host. And games don't work as well in a guest as in a host, if they work at all.

thanks.
would a guest run faster if the hard drive were larger or smaller for the computer, or no difference?

No difference, in most cases. Running out of disk space can be a problem, severe lack of disk space can cause congestion, but the effect of that should be minor. If you have enough disk space already then adding more will not boost performance. Of course having loads of free disk space is great for future expansion, but that wasn't your question.

Larger or smaller would not really make much difference. Having the virtual disk on a faster disk (particularly an SSD) would certainly make the vm faster.bbbbb wrote:thanks.

Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

Re: faster vmbox?
How about the number of processors given to the guest? What would be optimal if, for example, the host has 8 processors (4 of them virtual)?

Re: faster vmbox?
Similar to the disk question. Start with one CPU, add more if that isn't enough. Adding more CPUs is pointless if the guest app can't use them. If you add more CPUs than the guest can use then performance may actually go down. And, you should absolutely never assign more CPU to the VM than your host can easily afford.
