As a novice with software like Virtualbox, I should have known better than to install it and then try to set it up with no real knowledge how to go about doing it. Long story short, whatever I did (or didnt finish doing) is now preventing my real OS, Windows 7 pro, from booting at start up. From what I can tell, the computer is now trying to boot one of the virtual Win 7 I started to create in Virtualbox.... Im not sure how or why this is happening as I installed virtualbox on a different drive than my real OS, but now I cant even use the recovery tools to get my machine to boot my real OS. To make matters worse, I cant find my windows recovery disc and nothing else seems to be working...

Is there any way to get my machine to go back to booting from the real OS and not the virtual OS I started to create? Can I swap the drive I installed Virtualbox on into another computer and just delete it and if so, will that fix my problem? Is there any other info I can give to help facilitate a response with a soultion? Thanks in advance!

If your machine was set to create restore points, you should be able to go back to a state from before VBox was installed, but you will need to boot from a recovery disk or the original install disk to get started.

Without that, you will need somebody with a bit of OS knowledge to recover the installed OS.

My guess is that, when you thought you were installing an OS in a vm, you accidentally started to install it on the physical machine and fouled up the loader.
