Unable to install Windows 8.1 upgrade

Current version of VB running under Mavericks on Mac Book Pro w/15" screen.
Windows 8 VM already installed and running just fine.
Have to use Win8 Store app to install 8.1 upgrade
Store app will not run because it says the resolution is too low!
Win 8 resolution is already set to max.

Copied the Win8 VM files to VB running on my Win8.1 PC. Win8 VM ran just fine, then started Store app. Store app ran OK, but trying to install 8.1 upgrade yielded error that upgrade wasn't supported by the CPU!
CPUs on both Mac Book Pro and PC are both Intel i7s!!

Would appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks

Mark

If you had searched for "VirtualBox"+"Windows 8.1"+"CPU", you would easily see that the solution is to select "Windows 8.1 (64-bit)" as the guest version.

If fact I did quite of bit of searching, but clearly failed to understand a key element of some of the responses where it said to select the 64 bit OS. Your reply caused me to take a 2nd look, and all is good now.

While I appreciate your reply and willingness to help, I do not appreciate what I consider to be your childishly snotty attitude and assumption of what I did or did not do prior to posting my question.

Thank you!

Mark

Great! Would you mind changing the original post's title to "[SOLVED] ..." so that the rest of the community can benefit as well from your findings? TIA.
