Strange guest appearance after Win7 wakes from sleep

HOST: Windows 7
GUESTS: Linux Mint, Windows XP
VM: VirtualBox 4.3.6 ( recently updated from 4.2.18 )

Updating VirtualBox to 4.3.6 has resulted in some strange (and very undesirable) guest behavior when the Win7 host wakes from sleep.

Steps To Reproduce Problem:
1: In Win7 host, start the VirtualBox guest (either Linux Mint or Windows XP [or any guest?]). I use Fullscreen guest.
2: Minimize the VirtualBox guest to the Win7 host taskbar.
3: Put the Win7 host into the Sleep mode.
4: Once Win7 is fully asleep, wake it up (eg, press any keyboard key)

Result in VB 4.2.18 before update to 4.3.6: As expected, Win7 wakes from sleep and the desktop resumes its exact pre-sleep state and configuration. The VirtualBox guest is still minimized in the taskbar.

Result in VB 4.3.6: Win7 wakes from sleep and the desktop resumes its pre-sleep state except the VirtualBox guest is no longer minimized. The guest soon opens as the foremost window (not minimized, not fullscreen). Furthermore, the guest window takes up the full screen but has a border around it and is paused ("greyed-out") and does not itself wake up until it is double-clicked. This is definitely very undesirable behavior; the behavior described above for 4.2.18 is what should be expected.

Has anyone else seen this odd behavior? Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks
