your cpu doesn't support long mode use a 32 bit distribution

Post by misthe »

Hello guys,

I think it is a well known issue and i post it here because you may can give me a quick solution to this error.
Actually the message shouldn't appear to my case as i' m using a latest i7 4770 processor which supports as i saw VT, my board is a z87 and i think is also capable of doing many things, finally the VB has installed on Win 7 64 environment.
So my problem starts when i' m loading this ISO image to my VM and during the installation prompts me that message.
This ISO definitely works on ESXi as it has been tested there. any idea .... :?

1) 64-bit guests need hardware-virtualzation enabled in the hosts bios.
2) when creating the 64-bit guest you must select 64-bit in General -> Basic -> version.
3) If running Windows as host you must make sure hyper-v or xp mode is not enabled on the host. MS does not play well and wants it all.
