Greetings great people of the virtualbox forum.
Ive made a VHD of an old computer that runs XP and when i run it in Virtualbox i just get a black screen(see image) and ive tried to remake the VHD, ive tried to resize it, ive tried to disable VT-x/AMD-V, so if anyone could help me i would be incredibly grateful.

Change the IO-APIC setting in the VM recipe (whatever way it's set now, make it the other way).
Also read
https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Migrate_Windows. You can ignore the part about using "convertfromraw" since you already have a VHD.

Why did you think it worked? What changed?
Your host only has two cores: giving them both to guest isn't very healthy for the host. Try reducing the VM to single core.
Looking at the log, I see nothing to suggest any other problem. However, you could try booting the VM in safe mode.

well, before i made that first change i didnt get to windows loading screen at all, and after that ive tried both 1 and 2 cores(and the host has a quad core so im splitting it 50/50) but ill try to run 1 core and in safe mode

The CPU in your host is 2 cores, 4 threads (2 threads per). Assign no more than 1 core to a guest.

Start hitting F8 as soon as you see the bootup splash screen. You should get a boot menu offering various modes.
Do you still have the correct XP setup CD? Because coming up quick is the final thing to try: a "Repair installation".
