Keep Host awake when Guest has a client

Post by jborn »

How do you keep OS X Mavericks awake enough to allow a remote desktop connection to the guest (Windows 8.1) OS. Mavericks keeps going to sleep on me thus causing my remote desktop session to be severed.

Thanks for any tips!

How about changing the Computer sleep to Never from the Energy Saver in the System Preferences?

I'm hoping for something a little less drastic.

My assumption for why this wasn't going to be an issue was this:
1) the guest OS is actively running
2) the host OS see's activity in an application and doesn't go to sleep

Once the remote desktop session ends, the application is no longer running and the host goes to sleep.

Is there a way to do that?

Sounds to me like this is a question for the Apple support. The OS is controlling this behaviour, not the application.
