Verify Memory and Disk After Uninstalling VirtualBox

Hi,
I uninstalled VirtualBox and I need to know how to verify that the memory and the allocated disk space I assigned to the virtual machine has been removed.

When I opened up the Mac Disk Utility, the VirtualBox-4.3.6-91406-OSX.dmg is still showing and under it the VirtualBox is unmounted. I need to totally remove this disk allocation and start fresh.

Also, I am not sure if the memory of 2GB was still allocated for the virtual machine.

Please help.

Thanks,
Marlon

  • If you're not running any virtual machine, your memory is not consumed.
  • The .dmg file contains the installer for VirtualBox, not your virtual machines.
  • Check your "<username>/VirtualBox VMs/". That's (by default) where your virtual machines are stored. If you delete that folder, they're gone (empty your trash).
  • If you want to remove VirtualBox's configuration, delete the "<username>/Library/VirtualBox" folder.

To add to what socratis said; how did you uninstall VirtualBox? Did you use the VirtualBox_Uninstall.tool in the dmg or did you just toss the VirtualBox application in the trash?
