Hello comunity, hope somebody can help.

I've installed VirtualBox succesfully 10 days ago, I've two virtual systems on it ubunt 12.04, they were running fine until yesterday.

I started virtual box and then this error message appeard:
com interface cannot initialized or the com server is not found. may the virtual box serve3r is not started. application is now closed. (this is a translation of the german error message, I'm german speaking).

I search in web, after some hours of searching I've not found solution.

Then I tried to reinsall Virtual Box, afterwards I faced the same situation again.

Had somebody this problem in the past?
Exits a solution for this behaviour?

Virtual Box Version: 4.3.6
OSX: 10.8.5
System: mac mini ic7 2,3 ghz 4GB RAM

At the moment I cannot work with my virtuall systems.

Hope somebody can support me.

Thanks a lot in andvance.

Regards. xben3

I'm not a Mac user, but I believe problems such as this are usually a result of permissions being messed up. You might want to search site:forums.virtualbox.org for previous discussions of permission problems on Mac hosts.

@mpack: you're right that this message usually comes as a permissions error. But usually not on the Mac. You have to install VB as administrator and you can run it as any user.

@xben3: Have you tried rebooting your Mac?

First thanks a lot for your answers.
Yes I've rebooted the mac serval times and I've installed vb as an administrator.

But I'll can take a look at the file premissions may be there is something wrong. I look in google may I find some hints.

I'll let you know.

I've tried to deinstall and install tried all the things which was mention in this page:
"stumiller.me/fixing-vagrant-osx-mavericks-update/"

On my side it has not worked out.
Then I tried to work around with premissions also nothing, same story same message agiain.
I tried to solve this wtih this vagrant tool I installed it and tried to do in the style of the webpage above, nothing, same message again.

Now I give up no idea more, may I wait for another version of vb and hope it will run.

May I buy a new hardware for my linux web server and forget it to virtualize it.
I've seen some nice benefits of vb but if its not working, makes no sense.

Thanks for helping.

All the best
xben3.
