Hi,
Few functionalities are not working even after installing guest additions. Function such as auto resize guest display is working properly but functionalities such as drag and drop , shared clipboard, share folder is not working .
Even though, I did all the settings such as I have added "user" to vboxsf group in Kali guest OS, I have checked all the settings for shared folder such as automount ,permanent , I selected the bidirectional options of shared clipboard and drag and drop option but still I am unable to see the contents in share folder.
The shared folder can be seen in /media drive , and also being a root user, I have all the permissions but still I cannot see the contents. After entering into the shared folder I can only see contents loading but no contents can be seen.
Host OS: ubuntu 12.10
Guest OS : kali-linux-1.0.6-i386
Virtual box: 4.2.18
Your help will be appreciated.

Re: Guest Addition not working properly
Drag n Drop only works from host to guest according to the manual. You should be able to drag a file to or from a shared folder. The clipboard is text only.

Re: Guest Addition not working properly
Ok.. but the main problem is shared folder... I am unable to see the contents of share folder in Kali Guest OS.

Please provide a VM log file: Minimum information needed for assistance.
Re: Guest Addition not working properly
The Guest log for my Ubuntu13.10 Guest is attached. I am facing the same Kali problem in Ubuntu13.10 Guest too. I am unable to see the contents of my shared folder, although I can see the folder which is present in /media folder with name "sf_share" . Please let me know if I have to share information about host too.

Re: Guest Addition not working properly
That is not a VM log file.
Re: Guest Addition not working properly
Ohh. I am sorry . Actually I ran the following command to get the logGuest.txt file:
VBoxManage showvminfo Ubuntu13.10 --details
Anyways I am attaching one more file, which I got from the log folder of the Ubuntu13.10 virtual machine.
