Running Virtualbox v 4.2.18 r88780 on Windows 7 Pro pc.
The guest operating system is Windows 2000.
Problem: When loggining on to Windows 2000, message appears saying there is a duplicate computer name on the network.
The network is a peer to peer network with 6 pc's. The host operating system for all the pc's is Windows 7 pro.
The adapters are set to “bridged” in Virtualbox
When a user logs into the guest operating system, the message “duplicate computer name exists “ appears. This started to happen when Virtualbox network was set to “bridged”. This error does NOT appear if Virtualbox is set to NAT.
I tried to remove NetBui from the Windows 2000 network properties. The Netbui option doesn't exist on Windows 2000.
How do I resolve this?

Change the name.duplicate computer name exists
[Solved] Re: Duplicate computer name problem
I found the problem.
For those of you who have never used a virtual machine software before (like me) :
I have discovered the computer name of the guest cannot be the same as the host. All kinds of weird network problems occur. Well, I have to experiment to learn.
