I have a Windows 8 host and have created a Windows 7 guest on Virtual Box 4.3.6 r91406.
Could someone tell me how I can make a full back up of the Windows 7 guest so that I can keep a copy for backup purposes on another computer.
Thank you

Re: How to backup my VM
With your VM shut down, copy the VM folder (typically "<YourUsername>\VirtualBox VMs\<YourVM>") and your VirtualBox settings (typically "<YourUsername>\.VirtualBox"). For more specialized scenarios (backup while the VM is running) search for "backup site:forums.virtualbox.org").
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

Re: How to backup my VM
There's no need to copy the .VirtualBox folder contents. It contains nothing specific to any VM - just GUI manager preferences.
