How-to Question - Migrate from VDI to iSCSI

I have a critical CentOS based guest system running on a Win7 64-bt host using a standard VDI. I now have a home system supporting iSCSI that I'd like to migrate this to, since it has redundant disks in it. Unfortunately I'm having trouble finding information on how to do this. I have the iSCSI target configured and VirtualBox has a new guest that is set to see the storage. How do I get the VDI file converted/imported/migrated into the new iSCSI storage?
Thanks in advance,
John

FAQ:
Moving a VM.
And you won't be "migrating" from VDI to iSCSI. You will be moving "a file" (VDI) to another storage area (iSCSI) from your existing one. Like moving a video file or a document.

I was hoping to get it as block-level storage, as if I was doing a fresh guest OS install rather than using iscsi as a method to present a cifs volume. I read one article here that mentioned converting the .vdi to raw then using dd to write to the block storage, however that wasn't working for me.

I think you need to clarify what you want to do.
VDI is a file with an internal VirtualBox harddisk layout, and SCSI is a hardware interface like IDE.
If you want to use the VDI file on the SCSI drive, just copy it and change the storage to this file in the quest settings.

A VDI is just an ordinary file on the host. If you want that file to enjoy the benefits of a particular drive then you need only move the file to that drive. Nothing complicated about it. In fact it's better to relocate the entire VM folder, i.e. maintaining the expected folder structure, so read that link which Socratis gave you.
