Better solution for second monitor redraw problem?

So I have a Macbook Air running OS X 10.6.8 and Vbox 4.3.6 with an Win7 and Ubuntu guests. I am running a second (Samsung) monitor and want to have the menus for both the host and guest on separate monitors.

I am having the redraw problem** (on both guests) like others have had with various versions of vbox. **Note: this does not happen if the guest is on the primary monitor.

The only solution I have found was below:

"SOLUTION HERE: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=22880
Solution is simple (and ugly): both monitor color profiles must be the same."

AND IT IS UGLY!!!!

Anyone find a slicker solution to this?

May have found a solution?

Discovered this by accident and not sure if it is related to the new update 4.3.8.

The second monitor redraw problem persists in the new version and can still be solved by changing the color (under display preferences) to be the same for both monitors, which results in the second monitor having an "off" color (drives me crazy).

BUT...

here is an interesting solution and I dont know why it works on my machine. I have the laptop monitor set as the secondary monitor (i.e. no menu when no VM running) when I connect an additional monitor, such that I can have my mac on the big additional monitor and the VM on the laptop monitor, each with their menus on the respective monitor. If I am already connected to the additional monitor and start a VM I have the redraw problem, HOWEVER, if I disconnect the monitor, start the VM, and then reconnect the additional monitor, problem solved!!

Any confirmation??

I am running Snow Leopard (10.6) host with Ubuntu, Win7 guests (trick works on both VMs).

If this has already been solved in a better way, let me know!
