I would like to install DirectAdmin on CentOS. Therefore CentOS needs to use the external ip directly (not through a router).

The OS X host is working fine with the static external ip. But when I try to bridge the IP to CentOS, CentOS gives me a message that the eternal IP is already in use (by OS X of course). How do I set this up?

When I put Virtualbox's network in Bridged Adapter and create a bridge inside CentOS. The IP also conflicts with the IP of OSX. Now I get the "Error, some other host already uses address ..." on the br0 bridge device in stead of the eth0 device.

If you are trying to use the same IP as the host, that won't work. Bridging only means you will be using the same physical interface, it doesn't mean you'll be using the same IP.
Virtualbox doesn't deal with IP but with hardware.

If you want to share your host IP, you need to go with appropriate options - I won't go in any detail as this is not in the scope of Virtualbox:
- Use NAT network mode
- Use Host-Only + configure routing & NAT on your host.
